| Aikido means the way of the harmony. It’s one of the youngest japan fighting arts. It originally came from old fighting system, which used to use samurais.In compare to older fighting arts, the main idea of aikido is not to attack other people. Aikido develops the mentality of the fighter. There’s no competitions in this style. Everybody helps each other in the tatami. The goal of the studing Aikido fighting style is to reach the harmony of the mental and psychical condition. Learner’s personality is also formed by learning of fighting. Aikido is only the system of the self-defense, so it’s can’t be used for attack. All the technics are not violent, but many of them are very useful. The training starts with the breathing exercises. Then aikidokas (learners of Aikido) practising fight with the one, or more sparing partners. There are fights with no weapons and with weapons too. Aikidokas use different weapons like Bokken-wooden sword, jo-stick and the tanto-knife.
